Funded by the LSIS Regional Response fund, One East Midlands are once again teaming up New College Stamford, this time on the Closer Links project, which will take forward some of the key recommendations from the LSIS funded Forward Communities project; to develop more effective collaborative working across the Further Education sector.

Forward Communities Post Event Report

The Forward Communities: Cultivating Joint Working event, an interactive partnership event for the third sector, FE colleges and local authorities, took place on 11 May 2011 at the Atrium (formally ICCA), Nottingham.

The aim of the event was to bring together VCS organisations, regional FE colleges, third sector learning providers and local authorities in the East Midlands, to investigate what opportunities exist for joint working, share effective practice and explore the challenges, opportunities and rewards presented by working with other sectors.

Running from 1 July 2010 to 31 December 2011, the Forward Communities Partnership is funded by Learning and Skills Improvement Service (LSIS) to encourage opportunities for improved joint working between the voluntary and community sector (VCS), community learning providers and FE colleges.
