Public Health England, NHS England and the Local Government Association released a joint consensus statement which describes the commitment to the Making Every Contact Count (MECC) approach within the NHS, local authorities, the allied and wider health and care workforce, and relevant agencies.

The NHS Standard Contract must be used by NHS commissioners (Clinical Commissioning Groups and NHS England) when commissioning clinical healthcare services other than primary care. Until now a single (tailorable) version of the NHS Standard Contract has been published. But now, for the first time, an alternative, shorter, form may be used in certain circumstances

Good self care support services provide benefits to patients and carers and offers benefits in demand and cost management to health economies.Self care can extend from making lifestyle choices like eating a healthy diet through to administering prescribed medication or using learned techniques to take care of symptoms. But Self care is under used and self care support is often remains under commissioned.
