NHS Infection Monitoring Pilot Scheme – Corby Volunteers Needed!

NHS Corby Clinical Commissioning Group is running a year-long pilot scheme designed to prevent emergency admissions due to infections. The pilot is already underway and they are short of the 600 volunteers needed for the scheme.

The pilot trains people at risk and/or someone supporting them, to regularly monitor for the early signs of infection to try and prevent them becoming seriously unwell and possibly going in to hospital.

The scheme is being delivered by charity Northamptonshire Carers and company called Miralife, founded by Garry Swann, a senior clinician with over 30 years’ experience working in hospitals. Miralife tested the pilot in Warwickshire over five years with a 90% reduction in hospital admission in this cohort.

More information about the pilot can be found here http://www.northamptonshire-carers.org/early-detection-of-infections-pilot/
