Mental Health & Employment: The Voluntary Sector Contribution - Can one size fit all?

Taking place on Wednesday 11 March from 9.30am to 4pm at the Belmont Hotel, Leicester, this national round table discussion aims to help shape good practice and share evidence in mental health and employment services.

The event, chaired by Jeremy Clarke from the New Savoy Partnership, will provide delegates with an opportunity to focus on the important contribution the VCS makes in this area.

Bringing together national leaders, research academics and practitioners, the event will examine key evidence, guidance and best practice. It will also provide delegates with an opportunity to debate and to influence national thinking on the gaps and barriers in current service delivery and provide recommendations and actions needed to address these in a report to the Department of Health, Public Health England and NHS England.

Speakers at the event will include:

  • Professor Steve Bevan, Director of the Centre for Workforce Effectiveness, The Work Foundation, will present early findings from the Individualised Personal Support (IPS) model in Primary Care pilots;
  • Dr Rachel Perkins, freelance consultant and author of Realising Ambitions: Better employment support for people with mental health conditions, will be speaking on the (IPS) model;
  • Yvonne Clark, Managing Director, Pathways CIC, will present on Black and Ethnic minority mental health and employment; and
  • Members of the Mental Health Providers Forum will present a variety of best practice from their services.
