Regional Voices: Wellbeing East and Wellbeing East Midlands Health & Social Care Networks*

*From the 1st October 2015 Regional Voices' Health & Social Care Networks in the East and East Midlands (formerly managed by OEM) are being managed by selfhelp UK

The East Midlands and East of England health & social care Wellbeing networks are part of 9 regional networks which together form Regional Voices (for better health)

Regional Voices is part of the Third Sector Strategic Partner of the Department of Health, NHS England and Public Health England.

Through this work we support voluntary and community organisations to understand changes within the NHS and support organisations to influence these changes, in order to achieve better outcomes by:

  • connecting policy makers with the work of voluntary and community (VCS) organisations at local, regional and national levels, to shape and improve health and care services for local communities;
  • informing VCS organisations about changing health structures and how to engage with them;
  • championing better commissioning and co-production of health, wellbeing and care services, in partnership between statutory and VCS organisations; and
  • influencing health and social care policy at regional and national levels through identifying good practice and sending powerful, coordinated messages to government, based on evidence and consultation with VCS organisations.

For further information about Regional Voices visit www.regionalvoices.org.

The Wellbeing Networks are open to organisations which:

  • work in or with the voluntary, community and social enterprise sectors;
  • have an interest in health and social care issues; and
  • operate for the benefit of communities in the East Midlands and East of England.

Through the network, organisations have the opportunity to influence regional and national health policy and implementation issues - a key part of the Regional Voices' national project to develop better partnerships between the NHS and the sector.

The Wellbeing networks also produces a monthly e-bulletin to keep health & social care organisations up-to-date with key regional and national policy issues.
