Compact Voice has published the findings of its 2012 annual survey of local Compact groups, which was responded to by over 75% of local Compacts in England, who provided information about how their local partnership agreement was working.

Cabinet Office has announced the creation of a new Crown Representative for the VCS, with the aim of opening up more public sector business opportunities for the sector, and improving the relationship between government and the sector.

NCVO, the National Council for Voluntary Organisations, has published a new report, entitled Quality Assurance in the Voluntary and Community Sector, looking into the perceptions and use of quality standards by VCS organisations.

New guide to managing charity reserves

CFG, Acevo, the Institute of Fundraising and Sayer Vincent have launched a new publication on how charities can better manage their reserves.

Entitled Beyond Reserves, the guide discusses whether reserves could be apportioned more effectively and creatively to better serve the charity and its beneficiaries. It also includes insights and case studies from chief executives, finance and fundraising directors from a range of organisations.

SEEM offers workshops on social enterprise

One East Midlands have been contacted by Roger Moors, Chief Executive of SEEM, who after running a half day introduction to social enterprise workshop at Bassetlaw CVS, is available to organise similar workshops for VCS infrastructure organisations across the East Midlands at a competitive price.

Regional Voices, the national network of regional VCS infrastructure networks, in which One East Midlands represents the East Midlands, is carrying out a survey on the impact of spending cuts on the VCS.
