Age UK - Talking Treatments film now available online

Age UK’s Talking Treatments film available on the Age UK website; aims to promote (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) IAPT and increase awareness of depression and anxiety amongst older people and outline how talking treatments can help with these issues.

Older people as a group are drastically under-represented as users of talking treatments which might be because there has been a stigma attached to seeing a therapist or receiving counselling.

Further to the Talking Treatments leaflets and posters distributed last year, the film, which was funded by NHS England and produced in partnership with IAPT and Age UK Camden.

You can also watch two individual stories where John and Sylvia describe first-hand how they came to try talking treatments and the positive effects talking therapy had on their lives.

Age UK would greatly appreciate your help to support the campaign by sharing the film and raising awareness of Improving Access to Psychological Therapies [IAPT] within your networks.

Older persons experiencing low mood or anxiety please are being encouraged to contact their GP or to make a self-referral to their local IAPT service
