The (Cultural) Life of the Child: Summit #3

Following on from The Mighty Creatives’ inspiring summits focused on the Early and Primary Years, Summit #3: The Secondary Years (11-18) will take place on Wednesday 18 June at the Riverside Centre, Derby.

The (Cultural) Life of the Child Summits bring together children's service leaders, practitioners and educators from across the East Midlands and nationally to look at what makes a good child hood. The summits will identify what children and young people need and how professionals from different sectors can work together to improve opportunities and outcomes.

Working with a national advisory board, and designed to showcase valuable ideas and innovation, the summits will create a new blueprint for collaboration to help all children and young people thrive.

The (Cultural) Life of the Child programme takes the form of a series of strategic summits, one for each phase of childhood and asks the following key questions:

  • What is a good childhood?
  • How is childhood changing?
  • What do children and young people want and need from their childhood?
  • How can we work together to give every child the very best start in life?

The summit series is chaired by The Mighty Creatives’ Chief Executive, Richard Clark. Each individual summit is co-chaired by expert leaders from the children’s and cultural sector and the author, speaker and educationalist, Richard Gerver, is supporting the programme.
