NCVYS has produced a Funding Update for April, which includes local and national funding opportunities and highlights funding focused on workforce development. The update is available at http://ncvys.org.uk/UserFiles/Funding_April13.pdf.

Snippets, NCVYS's bi-monthly workforce development e-bulletin, is available to download at www.ncvys.org.uk/Workforce.html. Highlights include guidance for employers on new qualifications for trainers; an opportunity to be part of the design of a new training and skills resource called The Skills Platform from Skills-Third Sector; and free My Money Week Activity Packs for working with young learners.

The government has launched a new web page on the Disclosure and Barring Service, which includes details of which services are offered by the service, including fees and guidance on applications, and how the referrals process works. The British Red Cross has launched a campaign to educate young people to help friends who self-harm, after the number of people self-poising increased by more than 40 percent in a decade. The Sex Education Forum has launched a new e-magazine for teachers and other professionals involved in sex and relationships education. The first edition, which provides advice and information on handling the topic of pornography, is available for free at www.sexeducationforum.org.uk/resources/sex-educational-supplement.aspx.
