Repository of youth impact studies

The Department for Education has been working with the Centre for Analysis of Youth Transitions (CAYT) to set up an open access data bank of quality assured impact studies on services and programmes that support the development of young people.

The databank will include impact studies on services aimed at preventing risky behaviour and promoting good behaviour, ensuring better school attendance or attainment, and ensuring better labour market outcomes for young people.

The repository, which currently includes 13 programmes and can be accessed at www.ifs.org.uk/centres/caytRepository is aimed at a range of stakeholders, including commissioners of youth services who need access to reliable and independently validated information on programme impacts and programmes themselves to replicate the most effective approaches.

Youth organisations interested in submitting programme evaluations for inclusion in the databank may wish to attend a free workshop on designing robust evaluations, which takes place on Monday 3 June. For further information visit www.ifs.org.uk/events/891.

CAYT can also offer support for youth organisations who would like advice on how best to evaluate their programmes. For further information email cayt@ifs.org.uk.
