Young men and domestic violence

Findings from the Boys to Men Project, looking at boys’ and young men’s experiences and attitudes towards domestic abuse, have been published.

The findings include:

  • Over half of 13-14-year-olds had some direct experience of domestic abuse
  • 44% of boys and 46% of girls who had been on a date had experienced at least one of the types of domestic abuse measured
  • Anti-violence campaign material is a useful resource in encouraging discussion about domestic abuse
  • Opportunities to prevent young men becoming perpetrators of domestic abuse are being missed.
