Time to Change Grants Fund

Applications are currently being accepted by Time to Change to support projects in England that address mental health stigma and discrimination by bringing people with and without mental health problems together.

Projects should change attitudes and behaviour by engaging local communities in meaningful conversations about mental health. The fund is particularly keen to receive applications from projects run in partnership by one or more organisations. People with experience of mental health problems must be involved in the planning and development of the projects at all levels.

Registered charities, constituted community groups, faith organisations, community interest companies, constituted voluntary organisations, social enterprises, and co-operatives may apply for grants of between £10,000 and £100,000.

Most grants will be of between £10,000 and £40,000. 25% of the grants fund will go to projects run by and for people from BME communities, and 20% will go to projects working with children and young people in the South East with a focus on Kent.

Projects should:

  • Improve public attitudes and behaviour towards mental health issues which leads to more people facing less discrimination in relation to their mental health.
  • Improve the confidence and ability of people with mental health problems to take action to tackle stigma and discrimination.
  • Improve the confidence of people with mental health problems to engage in and contribute to the life of their community.

An application form and guidance notes can be found on the Time to Change website.

The Fund expects to distribute £2.7 million to approximately 75 projects across England from May 2012 to March 2015.

There will be four rounds over a two-year period. Round 3 of the programme will close for applications at 2pm on 30 April.
