Criminal Records Bureau is changing

In December 2012 the CRB is merging with the ISA to create a new organisation, the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

This will mean that from 1 December, the work of the CRB will be taken over by the DBS. Services will remain the same, but there will be changes to take on board including new forms, new branding and some new terminology.

The changes will affect all organisations that request CRB checks for staff or volunteers, or that process their own CRB checks.

The CRB has published a short presentation at www.hscf.org.uk/sites/default/files/article_attachments/crbchange-presentation_0.pdf, which explains what is changing and what is staying the same.
