The voluntary and community sector has made significant contributions to health and wellbeing, often reaching areas and communities that have been difficult to reach by mainstream health and social care providers. One East Midlands aims to keep the voluntary and community sector informed about these changes and where possible contribute to policy and strategy development.

Volunteering and Person Centre: Engaging with the IPC Programme - National Seminar, 13 May 2015, London

Between December 2014 and February this year, CSV and In Control, with the support of NHS England, facilitated four regional events to explore the particular role of volunteers and volunteering in integrated personal commissioning and person centred care.

The event will also include facilitated workshops which will provide delegates with the opportunity to explore issues in more detail and to consider the implications for their work.

Lesbian Gay Bisexual & Transgender [LGB&T] Mental Health – Risk and Resilience Explored

The RaRE research report looks at risk a resilience factors for three mental health issues that affect LGBT disproportionally: gay and bisexual men’s body image, lesbian and bisexual women’s relationship with alcohol and suicide in young LGB&T people.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) would like to hear about people’s experiences of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards

The Care Quality Commission [CQC] monitors the operation of  The Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards in England and reports on this each year. 

As with previous years, the CQC want to understand better the experiences of people who are or have been subject to the Safeguards and their families, to help inform our reporting for 2014/15.

They would like to extend a current piece of research and look into in-patient settings.
