Equalities and ESIF: Lessons Learnt from 2007-13

 Registration is closed for this event

The 2014-20 ESIF Programme again includes cross cutting themes designed to improve the wider benefit, value and impact of these investment programmes.  The cross cutting theme of Equal Opportunities and Anti-Discrimination will be applied across both ESF and ERDF with associated targets.  In order to ensure equality of impact from ESIF investments and achieve best value in individual investments it is vital to understand the lessons learnt from the current programme to help improve cross-cutting and measurement in the next.  This workshop will provide the opportunity to:

  • Undertake an in-depth assessment of the impact and management of equality and anti-discrimination in 07-13 period;
  • Understand what factors lead to better equality outcomes;
  • Learn from evidence at National/Regional and LEP level;
  • Seek to develop recommendations on effective management and monitoring.

Rachel Quinn (Chief Executive of One East Midlands, Deputy Chair of the LMC and Chair of the Investment subgroup) and Iris Lightfoot (Equalities representative on the East Midlands ERDF LMC) will present the results from the One East Midlands Equality across the Region report, which analyses the monitoring techniques and results of equality considerate activities within ERDF funded projects during the 2007-2013 Programme.

Alongside Managing Authority representatives from both the 2014-20 ESF and ERDF programmes, the event will also seek to:

  • Learn from the 2007-13 ESF and ERDF programme outcomes;
  • Understand current thinking within Managing Authorities on implementation across the 2014-20 ESIF programme;
  • Inform LEPs on local implications and how best local areas can support better equality outcomes;
  • Shape recommendations for future programme impact and success.

This event is targeted at equalities and VCS representatives of LEPs, Chairs and Secretariat of LEPs, ESIF Managing Authority representatives and Government Equalities Office representatives to the Growth Programme Board.

Places are limited and we anticipate that this event will be subject to high demand, so please book your place promptly.   Once bookings are full you can contact One East Midlands (office@one-em.org.uk) to be added to the waiting list as places may become available at last minute.
