Recruitment to New Care Models Team - Patient Representatives needed

NHS England is committed to putting people at the heart of all we do and in order that people have a voice in the recruitment of this new team, we are seeking the involvement of patient representatives to be part of the recruitment process.

A new team is being recruited to work with NHS England to support the vanguard areas in delivering their plans and ensuring the development of effective partnerships with patients, the public and other services. You will work alongside clinical staff and managers from vanguard sites to ensure we recruit leaders with the values and behaviours essential to making the impact required.

Twenty-nine vanguard areas will be identifying new ways of working to achieve a sustainable NHS based upon the vision identified in The NHS Five Year Forward View document:-

What will the input/requirements be of patient representatives?

We are really keen to have input from patient representatives from a variety of backgrounds and experiences to support the interview process at the assessment centres.  You will need to be available to attend one day (or more if you would like and are available) in central London on 17th, 18th, 22nd, 23rd and 24th of June.   We will provide you with a briefing pack to explain your role as an assessor, what to expect and what we are looking for from the candidates.

Each assessment day starts at 9:00am and finishes at 6pm in central London.  We appreciate that this is a long day and patient representatives do not need to take part in the whole day.

We will of course reimburse reasonable travel expenses in line with NHS England’s Expenses Policy and are happy to book your travel for you, including hotel accommodation  if required.

If you’re interested in playing an important part in the interview process as a patient representative, please contact Jenny Sleight to register your interest in the first instance via jenny.sleight@nhs.net as soon as possible.
