Children's Epilepsy Surgery Service: Patient and Public Workshop – London 10th June 2015

NHS England are currently consulting on proposed changes to the service specification for the Children’s Epilepsy Surgery Service. The three month consultation was launched in March and will run until 18 June 2015.

To make sure that the voices of patients, their families and interested members of the public are heard, NHS England are holding a workshop where there will be the opportunity to discuss the potential impacts and benefits of the proposals. This event will also be a chance to meet with other people with an interest in, or experience of the children’s epilepsy surgery service.

A consultation guide has been produced, containing information about the rationale behind the proposed changes. https://www.engage.england.nhs.uk/consultation/childrens-epilepsy-surgery

The workshop will take place in central London on Wednesday 10 June, 10am until 1pm (registration open from 9.30, final hour will be for networking with other participants).

NHS England recognise that it may be difficult to travel to attend the workshop in person and will therefore run a webinar of the event where you can view the slides and listen to the presentations in real time and even join in the Q&A via twitter or email.

If you would like to attend the workshop or join the webinar please register here http://www.events.england.nhs.uk/all/585  as soon as possible as places are limited.

If you have difficulties in registering on the website please call Victoria Ward – 0113 825 5129 or email victoria.ward7@nhs.net

NHS England would appreciate a wide range of views on the proposals, including from children and young people themselves.  If you are not able to attend the workshop, please visit the website and feed in your views via the online survey and please do share this information widely for others to input their views too.
