Guidance for providers and commissioners of youth services

The Cabinet Office has published a guide for providers and commissioners of youth services on outcomes frameworks. The guide includes:

• Understanding how measuring impact can help you to learn from and improve initiatives;
• Understanding how demonstrating impact can help providers develop a more powerful case when applying for funding and, for commissioners, enabling them to assess the potential effectiveness of investment;
• Identifying the outcomes which matter most to the young people with whom organisations work;
• Understanding the difference between existing outcomes frameworks, how they relate to one another and what they look like when in use on the ground; and
• Understanding the next steps to integrate an outcomes framework into their work and where to go for further guidance and support.
