Volunteering platform re-launched
Online volunteering platform Do-it has been relaunched by its new owner, the Do-it Trust, with more emphasis on sharing volunteering opportunities via social media.
Do-it was started by YouthNet in 2001 and was sold to a partnership involving volunteering bodies ivo.org, Believe. In, Blue Dot, Prospectus and Vivo.
The partnership is further supported by others including Tinder Foundation and its network of UK Online centres. The platform has 250,000 visitors each month and helps more than 50,000 organisations find volunteers. This year ivo.org rebranded as the Do-it Trust following the acquisition of the platform.
Ahead of the relaunch the charity commissioned some research which found that 21 percent of respondents said they would share information about recent volunteering activities on social media.
