Younger children at risk of gang association: prevention and intervention that works

Younger children at risk of gang association: prevention and intervention that works, taking place on Tuesday 4 November from 10am to 4pm at Nottingham Conference Centre, will focus on measures which deter and prevent children and young people aged five to 13 from becoming associated with street gangs.

Topics covered at the event, all presented by organisations directly involved in working with gang-affected children and young people and their families, include:

  • Why at-risk young people are being overlooked;
  • Research findings relating to children associated with gangs;
  • A young person’s perspective on gangs, the role of social media, and how to reach younger children;
  • Prevention, early intervention and family support initiatives;
  • Better crisis intervention where there is already family involvement in gangs; and
  • Mentoring interventions for girls and boys aged five to 11.

The cost of the conference is £140 plus VAT with a limited number of £120 plus VAT spaces available for charities with less than 10 employees.
