Child Protection and Safeguarding in the Arts and Cultural Sector

Taking place on Tuesday 15 July from 10am to 4.15pm at Lakeside Arts Centre, Nottingham, this course is aimed at anyone working in the arts and cultural sectors with children and young people.

The course will include a full update on current child protection legislation, including the Disclosure and Barring Service, the Duty to Refer and Working Together - within the context of developing and delivering creative and cultural projects for children and young people. The course will also include a “safe touch” section, exploring how child protection guidelines can be maintained within more physical art forms.
 
The course will be of benefit to individuals and organisations looking to develop their own child protection policy and maintain standards of good practice, providing practical advice and guidelines to develop confidence and sensible structures around child protection issues within arts and cultural organisations. 

All participants will receive a certificate of attendance upon successful completion of the course and a range of practical resources. 

The course of the course, including lunch and refreshments, is £150, with limited bursaries available.
