Valuing volunteers within health and social care settings – Measuring the impact of volunteering

Organised by CSV and NNVIA and supported by the Department of Health, NHS England and Public Health England, this free event will take place on Thursday 20 March from 10.30am to 3pm in Central London.

The King’s Fund report on volunteering in health and care recommends the critical role of volunteers in building a sustainable approach to health and social care and encourages service providers and commissioners to take a much more strategic approach towards volunteering.

This event is aimed at those involved in commissioning health and social care, public health, local authority policy and strategy, and volunteering in health and care settings.

This event will enable delegates to:

  • Consider how to maximise the impact and effectiveness of volunteering in improving health and care outcomes;
  • Explore and share examples of best practise in the strategic engagement of volunteering; and
  • Look at how to develop shared approaches to measuring the impact of volunteering in promoting health and wellbeing.

Speakers at the event will include:

  • David Buck, Senior Fellow, Kings Fund and co-author of Volunteering in Health and Care
  • Giles Wilmore, Director of Patient and Public Voice, NHS England
  • Heidi Shute, Corporate Director, Medway Community Healthcare.
