Mental Health and Faith Communities

Organised by FaithAction, Livability and the Mental Health Providers Forum, the Mental Health and Faith Communities event, including the launch of Friendly Places, will take place on Tuesday 4 March from 2.30pm to 4.30pm at the NCVO Society Building, 8 All Saints Street, London N1 9RL.

Faith Action believe there is a significant and positive role for faith communities to play in the support of those with mental health problems, both within their own congregations and in the wider community.

This free event will:

  • Explore mental health in the context of faith communities;
  • Raise awareness of how faith communities can respond to mental health issues;
  • Launch Friendly Places and the Friendly Places Pledge; and
  • Highlight existing good practice.

Speakers at the event will include:

  • Norman Lamb MP (TBC);
  • Daniel Singleton, National Executive of FaithAction;
  • Rvd Nims Obunge, Pastor at the Freedom's Ark Church and Chief Executive of the Peace Alliance;
  • Raheel Mohammed, Director of Maslaha;
  • Will van der Hart, Founding Director of Mind and Soul; and
  • Katharine Welby, Community Mission Coordinator at Livability.
