Review of police and crime commissioners

Voice4Change England has published a review of what police and crime commissioners (PCCs) have done during their first year in post and what this means for the BME and refugee community and the VCS who work with them.

41 PCCs were elected outside London with a very low turn out of 15 percent, a historical low in terms of elections.

31.7 percent of elected PCCs were previously involved with the police authority, 19.5 percent are former police officers, 46 percent are current or former councillors and 15 percent are former MPs.
