Venue:

One East Midlands Reach & Impact project, in partnership with ACEVO, are running this free half day workshop, including lunch, to help third sector organisations, funding advisers and development workers start to prepare and think about how taking advantage of opportunities in the next EU Structural and Investment Funds 2014-20 programme.

The next EU structural and Investment Funds programme 2014-20 will look to fund priority areas including innovation, research and technological development, support for small businesses, the low carbon economy, skills, employment and social inclusion. Local enterprise partnerships (LEPs) have a lead role in developing local investment strategies to propose and decide how EU funding will be spent against the priorities.

There are opportunities in the next EU programme for the third sector to develop and deliver economic projects, which can increase the number of people into work, create economic development and contribute to growth.

This workshop seeks to look at the steps involved in developing models of consortia that could be funded by the EU programme and highlight from the LEP strategy for that county/city, where the areas of potential collaboration might be.

The learning objectives of the workshop are to:

  • Help participants to look at how their desired project would be delivered;
  • Equip participants with skills for matching these needs of delivery with different collaborative structures and models;
  • Share case studies and practical experience of supporting consortia;
  • Support participants to do a thorough audit of likely risks;
  • Give participants a grounding in the key success factors of developing a consortium;
  • Advise on how resultant consortia might access seed-corn funding for pre-feasibility and feasibility consortia development;
  • Help participants look at potential areas of collaboration that could be funded under the next EU structural & Investment Funds programme; and
  • Highlight some areas for collaboration from your local LEPs’ investment strategy.
