Our State of the Arts Project Leader vacancy at The Mighty Creatives

The Mighty Creatives, the young people’s creative development agency for the East Midlands, are recruiting for the post of Our State of the Arts Project Leader.

The part time post is for seven hours per week on a salary of £3,200 per annum and a fixed term until March 2014. The post will be based at the LCB Depot, Leicester with some regional travel.

This is a new role at The Mighty Creatives, leading on a new chapter of the Our State of the Arts project. The project is an online platform allowing young people to review arts activity taking place where they live across and the East Midlands. 

The successful candidate will be part of an important shift in focus for the project and entails working with an already established team of five young people who have designed, run and used the website already. The Our State of the Arts team is tasked to report on TMC Bridge invested projects in 18 different geographical areas across the East Midlands. The team, with the postholder’s support and guidance, will identify posts needed for Our State of the Arts and recruit other young people involved in these projects to join the website and create their own OSA profiles.  

Another key part of the role is attending regular Team meetings to provide feedback to the Community Partnerships team on project progress, any arising issues and any possible development opportunities for the project.  Finally the role does involve the basic management of and reporting on the Our State of the Arts website, for which training will be provided.

The successful candidate will ideally:

  • Be educated to A-Level or above in any subject;
  • Have previous experience working with young people in a leadership role;
  • Have some project management experience, preferably in a similar role;
  • Be computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft IT packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Have knowledge of online office suites such as Google Docs and EtherPad;
  • Have general knowledge of child protection procedures;
  • Have general knowledge of social media software such as Twitter and Facebook;
  • Possess exceptional written English;
  • Have a passion for Arts and Culture; and
  • Have the ability to demonstrate The Mighty Creative’s values in the way that you work.
