The Safeguarding Board for Northern Ireland (SBNI) has published three leaflets on child sexual exploitation targeted at children and young people; parents and carers; and professionals working with children and young people. The leaflets can be downloaded from www.safeguardingni.org/node/58.

The Muslim Women’s Network UK has published Unheard Voices, a report on the sexual exploitation of Asian and Muslim girls and young women. Key recommendations from the report include culturally specialist provision/services must be provided to support BME victims; toolkits to be used by community groups, religious institutions and individuals should be developed to identify and disrupt offenders and challenge behaviours and attitudes; racial profiling of sexual exploitation must be challenged with politicians and the media; and cultural sensitive third sector specialist BME projects and helplines should be set up.
