FSB complaints report

The Fundraising Standards Board has published its Complaints Report 2013.

Key findings from the report include:

  • 33,744 complaints were reported from 13.2 billion donor contacts
  • Half of all complaints are incurred by less than 2 percent of charities reporting
  • Fundraising volume grew by 38 percent from 2011 to 2012, while complaints increased by percent
  • Direct mail incurs the highest number of complaints
  • Telephone fundraising complaints rose by almost two thirds in 2012
  • 83 percent of charities that do doorstep fundraising report complaints about it.
