Press Code

A coalition of 105 youth groups has submitted a recommendation to the Editors’ Code of Practice Committee to include ‘age’ into the press code of conduct rules on discrimination.

The submission, led by the Youth Media Trust, urges the committee responsible for the Editors' Code of Practice, the code which informs the decisions of the Press Complaints Commission, to add age to the list of grounds on which newspapers and magazines may discriminate against those they write about.

The committee is accepting submissions on what changes should be made until 17 April 2013.
