Growing Giving inquiry

The Charities Aid Foundation has launched anew inquiry looking at the ways young people interact with charity, as part of which NCVYS is working with them to look at increasing opportunities for young people to get involved with charities and volunteering.

The Parliamentary Inquiry on Growing Giving follows a report last year, available at www.cafonline.org/publications/2012-publications/mind-the-gap.aspx, which found that many charities are increasingly reliant on donations from older people, and aims to investigate why people of different ages give different amounts of their money to charity.

The inquiry, which follows a poll highlighting the generosity of young people, available at www.growinggiving.org.uk/assets/files/Growing-Giving-Report.pdf, will consult people and organisations about how they are involved with charity.

The inquiry is looking at the different opportunities a person has throughout their life to engage with charities, and the first stage is focused on young people including the role of education, and the importance of new ways of giving.

The inquiry is an opportunity to share your experiences and help shape the future of giving.
