Volunteering at Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth games

More than 40,000 people have already signed up to be volunteers at the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, with around a third of the registrations came from England and the rest of the UK, showing the legacy of the London 2012 Games Makers was still evident.

The majority, approximately 25,000 of the potential volunteers, come from Scotland. People from Wales and Northern Ireland have also registered their interest online.

Applications opened in mid-January for people to secure places as one up to 15,000 volunteers being recruited for Glasgow 2014.
