A journey through equalities – Chesterfield & NE Derbyshire

Links CVS are developing a project to share and understand the life histories and experiences of BME and disabled people living in Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire.

Taking the form of an oral history, the project will record the journey and the continuing journeys that BME and disabled organisations, groups and communities make in order to achieve inclusion, equality and recognition of their rights.

Using film, theatre, workshops and written publications to tell the stories and experiences of journeys through equalities, it will explore how oppression affects these two groups by looking at the similar and distinguishing features about race and disability inequalities.

To help build these stories and successfully take this project forward, Links are inviting organisations to help shape and develop the project.
