Volunteering news
Charities in the UK will be able to advertise volunteer opportunities to 250,000 LinkedIn members who have declared an interest in volunteering or trusteeship, using a service launched by the business network.
Small charities, community groups and not for profit organisations are invited to put forward their own volunteers for the Britain's Best Volunteer Award, which wants to discover the nation's unsung volunteering heroes.
The final reports from a three-year research project by The Institute for Volunteering Research looking at volunteering across England during the downturn have been published.

South Derbyshire CVS is part of a national pilot project to recruit and involve volunteers with local care home residents. This free event is being hosted by their colleagues at Shropshire Rural Community Council and is open to anyone who is interested in the project.

This friendly and informal workshop is designed for people who currently involve volunteers, or who may do so in the future.

The aim of this session is to enable managers of volunteers in remote locations to develop the right culture and systems to get the best out of their volunteers.
