New guide published on care planning in dementia

NHS England has developed a guide Dementia: Good Care Planning, with input from people living with dementia, their carers’ and health and social care professionals. 


Don’t miss the link: how housing supports health targets, saves money and promotes better care - Sue Adams OBE

New NHS England Quick Guide on Health and Housing which identifies how housing and health can work together to ‘prevent and reduce hospital admissions, length of stay, delayed discharges, readmission rates and ultimately improve outcomes for people’.


New leaflets to help vulnerable patient groups register with a GP published

NHS England has co-produced a series of leaflets which give advice to vulnerable patients from asylum seekers and refugees, homeless people, Roma or traveller groups on how to register with a GP. 


New Guidance to NHS England Commissioners to Strengthen Patient and Public Participation

NHS England have published  new guidance to strengthen patient and public participation in NHS England’s direct commissioning activities. 


Public Health England has published the 2017 Child Health Profiles.

The profiles draw together information to present a picture of child health and wellbeing in each local area in a user-friendly format.


Local public intelligence online community

Public Health England (PHE) is piloting an online space on Knowledge Hub to share information about local knowledge and intelligence products and services. Our Local Knowledge and Intelligence Service (LKIS) will run the space.


Health Matters: Obesity and the food environment

You are invited to take part in a teleconference and question and answer session to launch Public Health England’s latest edition of Health Matters Health Matters: Obesity and the food environment


New Briefing - Information Governance and Smaller Charities

National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA) briefing in response to organisations providing assurances that they are practicing good information governance when being contracted by the NHS 


Building Dementia Friendly Faith Communities

FaithAction has produced a collection of inspiring examples of how faith communities from different traditions are supporting people living with dementia, along with their families and their carers.


Public health working with the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector

Volunteering Matters and The Local Government Association have produced a report which show how public health and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector (VCSE) are working together to make a real difference to people’s health and wellbeing.


Actions to Deliver a “New Relationship with People and Communities”

The People and Communities Board has published a series of ‘high impact actions’ for accelerating the adoption of person- and community-centred approaches to health and care.

EMAHSN Patient and Public Involvement Award - apply now!

The East Midlands Academic Health Science Network (EMAHSN) is offering a funding boost for vital community and voluntary groups that provide important support for patients to help shape local health services. Groups can apply for funding up until the 5 May 2017.

As part of the Mental Health Service Review programme, NHS England has published a 90-day public consultation on two new service specifications (and two separate appendices) for adult secure low and medium mental health services.
