Recognising the achievements of black community activists in the East Midlands

Communities Inc. have produced a resource documenting black community activism in the East Midlands over the last year, copies of which are available to order by organisations working with young people.

The project, which was designed to get the younger generation involved in their community, was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund for the East Midlands and took over a year to complete.

Communities Inc. Director, Shamsher Chohan said “It’s been really great to recognise the achievements of ordinary black people doing extraordinary things!”

Copies of the brochure can be ordered from http://blackcommunityactivism.org.uk or by telephoning Communities Inc. on 0115 910 1469.
