Changing Minds – Mental health in BME communities

This conference, taking place on Tuesday 15 April from 9am to 3.35pm at the Manchester Conference Centre, aims to raise awareness about mental health issues in BME communities, focusing on refugees and asylum seekers and mental health in later life.

Topics covered at the conference will include:

  • Mental health in later life – Dr Faisal Parvez, Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust
  • Refugees and asylum seekers – Dr Khatidja Chantler, University of Central Lancashire
  • Recovery in mental health – Mr Tom McAlpine, Moodswings Network
  • Personal experiences – Mental Health Voices.

There will also be a choice of two workshops in the afternoon.

The cost of the conference, including lunch, is £50 for the VCS and students and £75 for the private sector and professionals.
