Pressure Points: Carers and the NHS Report

Carers UK has published a new report ‘Pressure Points: Carers and the NHS’ which examines the role of carers in reducing emergency admissions and delayed transfers of care from hospital.

We asked carers who had used 999 or Accident & Emergency services over the previous year why they turned to emergency care. We also asked those caring for someone admitted to hospital in the previous year about whether they thought the admission to hospital could have been prevented and how well they felt supported by the discharge process and the services put in place to support them at home. In the report we highlight good practice and partnership working between CCGs, NHS Trusts and the voluntary sector.
