Regional Economic & Spatial Development
The East Midlands' Regional Economic Strategy aims for a "Flourishing Region", and retains the ambition to become on of a Top 20 region in Europe by 2010. Its focus is on economic growth by building on past success, tackling the reasons why individuals or communities feel disengaged, and generating healthy, safe and vibrant communities across the whole of the East Midlands. This section keeps you up-to-date with economic development initiatives in the East Midlands.

Sub National Review Briefing
Recent policy developments in economic and spatial planning will result in a drawing together of the way in which planning and development (economic and land use) is undertaken at regional level. In moving towards integrated regional planning there will be new emphasis on economic planning through a spatial approach in order to achieve greater sustainability for the region.
