Compact
The Compact is an agreement between Government and the voluntary and community sector which recognises shared values, principles and commitments and sets out guidelines for how both parties should work together. In this section, you can find out more about the Compact and national, regional and local links.

East Midlands Compact Working Group

The East Midlands Compact Working Group was set up in 2008 to promote the value of the Compact and to take forward work on a regional Compact. Shamsher Chohan was made Compact Champion for the region. In November 2008 a consultation was held to discuss the future of the Compact. The consultation report can be found below. Following that, there have been further meetings where the future of an East Midlands regional Compact and the role of the working group have been discussed. Its role will be extended to support a network of local Compact developers. If you are interested in becoming a member of the group, feeding into the debate or keeping abreast with the working of the Compact Working Group, please e-mail policy@one-em.org.uk
