VCS Development
Voluntary and community infrastructure organisations provide general or specialist support to groups in the voluntary and community sector. County and regional Consortia have drawn up Infrastructure Investment Plans to develop this infrastructure through ChangeUp. See the Infrastructure section for a description of VCS Infrastrucure in the region. There is a section where you can search the infrastructure organisations which are available in the region, Infrastructure Finder.

NHS Constitution Consultation Event
The Race Quality Foundation (REF) held a consultation event with BME organisations on 14 July 2010. The purpose of the consultation was to discuss the constitution and what it means for black and minority ethic communities.

This report explores the Red Cross’ work supporting thousands of destitute asylum seekers and refugees throughout the UK and the daily challenges they face to survive. "Your Human Rights" is a series of plain English, non-technical guides focusing on the practical relevance of human rights in the UK published by British Institute of Human Rights (BIHR). They are written directly for people living with mental health problems, disabled people, older people and refugees and asylum seekers who are in situations where they may need information on their human rights.

European Commission against Racism and Intolerance
The European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) has published its fourth report on the United Kingdom which deals with racism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism and intolerance in this country. ECRI’s Chair, Nils Muiznieks, pointed out positive steps in fighting discrimination, but also expressed concern that racist incidents had become more frequent, police powers were exercised in a manner that disproportionately affected minority groups, Gypsies and Travellers still faced serious discrimination and asylum-seekers remained in a vulnerable position.

Third Sector Action Plan
