In 2008, the Government initiated a national debate on the future of adult social care in England. The publication of the Green Paper, Shaping the Future of Care Together responds to that debate. It presents the Government’s vision and proposals for financing a National Care System that is fair, affordable, and sustainable, to meet future adult care and support needs.
