Contribution Through Volunteering

Taking place at The Studio, 51 Lever Street, Manchester M1 1FN on Thursday 26 February from 9.30am to 3pm, CSV invites delegates to attend this seminar on social action by young people with additional support needs.

The seminar will look at an approach, developed over the last few years by In Control and CSV, which aims to help people who need extra support to participate in meaningful and fulfilling social action activities, which focus on the assets they bring, enhance their skills, independence, health and wellbeing, and enable them to make a bond with other volunteers from their community who are able to provide them with support and mentoring, which are key elements in preparing young people for adulthood.

With the aim of finding a model which best meets the needs of young disabled people today alongside the objectives of local authorities, education and health practitioners, CSV has held consultations with young disabled people, carers, and professionals and would like to share their findings, thinking, and gather delegates views.
