Our History – Our Story: Polish heritage in the East Midlands

The Our History – Our Story exhibition of Polish heritage in the East Midlands will take place from Friday 11 April to Saturday 24 May on the first floor of Nottingham Central Library.

The free exhibition, curated by Signpost to Polish Success and artist Marek Tobolewski, captures the memories of Polish migrants who settled in Nottingham and the East Midlands after World War Two.

In addition, on Saturday 17 May from 1.30pm to 3.30pm come along to the exhibition and listen to ‘Stories of Survival and Resilience’.

Representatives of the post World War Two Polish community will talk about their forced Siberian exile during World War Two, their route out of Siberia, through Persia, Africa to Europe and Great Britain, and their life in the UK after World War Two.

For further information about the exhibition email Dr Beata Polanowska at beata.polanowska@empp.co.uk.
