Guidance on collective switching

The Department of Energy and Climate Change has published guidance for scheme organisers, including charities, on what to think about before setting up a collective switching scheme.

The purpose of a collective switching scheme is to allow consumers to group together to increase their buying power and to negotiate a better deal from gas and electricity suppliers.

The introductory guide, which reflects best practice and feedback from previous schemes, is not intended to provide legal advice or to replace the need for professional consultation on any aspect of setting up and running a collective switching scheme.
