The National Youth Agency has launched a new bursary scheme for would-be youth workers across England. The Youth Work Foundation will open for applications in spring 2014 and aims to provide small grants and scholarships to assist students from disadvantaged backgrounds to enter the youth work profession. The Foundation is aiming to distribute £40,000 across both bursary and scholarship schemes in 2014. For further information visit www.nya.org.uk/youth-work-foundation.

The European Charlemagne Youth Prize aims to encourage the development of European consciousness among young people, as well as their participation in European integration projects. The Prize is awarded to projects undertaken by young people that foster understanding, promote the development of a shared sense of European identity, and offer practical examples of Europeans living together as one community. The National Youth Arts Trust has been launched. For further information on the Trust, which was founded to provide access to the performing arts for young people between the ages of 7 and 25 from non-privileged backgrounds, visit www.nationalyouthartstrust.com.

Youth Music is accepting applications for grants of up to £30,000 per year for up to four years to fund partnerships between schools and other specialist music education providers. The Thomas Cook Children's Charity aims to help sick and disadvantaged children and young people aged 0 to 18 years in the UK and Ireland.
