New briefings on multiple needs and young adults

Revolving Doors Agency and the Transition to Adulthood Alliance (T2A) have published two new briefings for PCC candidates as part of their First Generation Project, which aims to inform and influence PCC candidates, and help them to improve responses to the ‘revolving doors’ group and young adults in their area.

The first briefing, entitled Ending the Revolving Door, focuses on how PCCs could cut crime by working in partnership in their area to address multiple needs. The second, entitled Why Prioritise Young Adults? 4 key messages for police and crime commissioners, brings together evidence from research and practice to propose constructive suggestions as to how PCCs can embed a more effective approach to young adult crime and anti-social behaviour in their area.

A background paper has also been published, considering the opportunities and concerns surrounding the PCC reform for both the ‘revolving doors’ group and young adults, while providing considerations as to how agencies working with these groups can influence and work with PCCs in the new landscape.
