The Health and Social Care Conference |
25 February 2010 9.30 to 4.30
Addressing inequalities in wellbeing in the East Midlands
This partnership event will bring together the third sector and partners to look at the current changes and challenges for health & social care and will seek answers to the following questions:
- How can the third sector and the statutory sector work together to improve quality and reach of health and social care services?
- How can we work together to reduce health inequalities?
- What role can the Third Sector Health & Social Care Network play in supporting this work?
The day will provide resources to improve third sector’s ability to engage in health and social care opportunities. There is a structured networking opportunity for third sector organisations to learn from other organisations working in the fields of health, wellbeing and social care.
Our key note speakers will frame the debate with key issues from a regional and national perspective:
Phil Hope MP Minister for Care and for the East Midlands
Professor David Walker Regional Director for Public Health – East Midlands
Anthony Kealy Strategic Programmes Director, NHS East Midlands
Rachel Quinn Chief Executive, One East Midlands
Delegates can participate in 2 workshops which will offer learning opportunities as well as give the chance for statutory and third sector partners to identify regional health and social care priorities. The day will allow delegates the chance to set the focus for a Health Inequalities Strategy for the region.
