Compact Voice East Midlands Regional Leader announced |
Compact Voice exists to help Voluntary and Community Organisations get the most out of the Compact. It provides strategic leadership on the relationship between public bodies and the sector; gives voice to the concerns and priorities of the sector to government and provides information, resources and support to the sector on the Compact.
Shamsher Chohan was recently announced as the East Midlands Regional Leader for Compact Voice. She has been involved in Compact work nationally for 7 years and was the Vice Chair of the BME Sub Group and member of the Compact Working Group that preceded Compact Voice.
She was part of the National Compact Refresh Panel and is optimistic about the impact the Compact can make. Tom Elkins, Compact Voice Manager said:
“We’re delighted that Shamsher is able to bring her extensive experience and understanding of the Compact to the East Midlands Regional Network. Shamsher is a fantastic champion for the Compact, with real understanding of how it can be effectively used. With a new Refreshed Compact due at the end of the year, it’s the perfect time for her to bring her expertise to this important role.”
Shamsher will be:
- Playing an ambassadorial role in the region providing a link with Local Compacts and Compact Voice nationally.
- be the lead for Compact Voice in the region
- assist in disseminating Compact Voice information and initiatives
- promoting and recruiting new members to the Compact Voice Network
- liaising with Government Office on Compact issues
- attending and supporting Compact related events
