If you not fully aware of the role of LEPs then more information can be found in our policy page at www.oneeastmidlands.org.uk/leps including links to individual LEP websites; including D2N2.

Building Better Opportunities – Consultation response

In our December bulletin we consulted with partners on the number of contracts that would be required to successfully deliver the D2N2 Social Inclusion Strategy for the first 3 years.  Responses received confirmed our view that 3 ‘work packages’ would adequately cover the range of activities required.  The three packages were broadly defined as:

Responses received indicated broad support but the approach must ensure adequate time and resource to form the complex delivery partnerships that will be required for each delivery programme.  Also that lead bodies should be identified at the earliest opportunity in order to stimulate partnership development.

This information has now been fed back to D2N2 and Big Lottery Fund.  We await a final decision on the commissioning approach.

Progressing the D2N2 Social Inclusion Framework – call for lead bodies

Following our recent consultation on programme themes under the Social Inclusion Big Lottery Fund opt-in (see above) we are now issuing a call for registrations of interest from organisations wishing to lead one or more of those work packages.  One East Midlands will then offer support to those organisations, via the Programme Development Fund, to build stronger consortia for bidding.

Big Lottery Fund has also issued more information on their opt-in.  Further information on progress can be found here and a guidance booklet for applicants can be found here .

Update from the D2N2 VCS Representative

The nominated representative from the VCS to the D2N2 Board and ESIF Sub Committee is Rob Crowder, CEO of Rural Community Action Nottinghamshire.

Maximising use of the Partnership Development Fund

As previously reported, One East Midlands have secured the contract to support the development of partnerships considering bidding to the Big Lottery Fund under the Building Better Opportunities Social Inclusion opt-in.

The attached report provides more detailed information about the approach One EM are taking in the D2N2 area and proposed timescales.
