“Using the Compact as a tool for local collaboration between health bodies and the voluntary and community sector”

One East Midlands were pleased to welcome Compact Voice to this Wellbeing East Midlands event at Nottingham Voluntary Action Centre, Mansfield Road Nottingham on the 18^th February 2015

Participants from a range of organisations across the region; including CCGs, Healthwatch, local authorities and the voluntary and community sector attended this informative and interactive half day session, delivered by Kelly Ventress – Senior Communications and Policy Officer and Nehal Depani Policy Officer from Compact Voice.

Compact Voice also brought along Bob Jones Chief Executive of Watford and Three Rivers Trust as a live case study; Bob has been involved with the Compact at a district and county level for many years and delegates were able to hear his personal musings of the health sector and of his experience of working in partnership with health bodies

The Compact Voice session covered:

• What is the Compact? – an overview about the Compact and Compact Voice
   
• The Compact and partnerships in health – Live Case Study
   
• Five reasons to work in partnership to improve health outcomes
   
• Round table discussion and a chance for people from the VCS and public bodies to share their experiences and the challenges and opportunities that partnership working can bring to health improvement and prevention.
   
• Feedback from Table Discussions
   
• Embedded Compact principles and resources - round up the day and resources available

Delegates were able to take away copies of the Compact Voice Partnership working toolkit and Awards booklets.

One East Midlands hosted the Wellbeing East Midlands event in partnership with the East Midlands Involvement Network.  The day started with a presentation from Penny Gibbs, one of the Involvement team navigators at Midlands and Lancashire CSU commissioning support unit, which is delivering the Involvement programme across the East and Midlands.

Funded by NHS England as part of the Field Force initiative, the Involvement programme currently forms part of the Patient and Participation Programme (PPP) which is one of ten CSU lead Patient and Public Voice projects in the country.
